I can only take so much relaxing. :)

Long tail boats at sunrise on Koh Phi Phi.
Today was another transit day from Koh Phi Phi to Koh Lanta.  We got up early and got to see the sunrise over the beach.  We took a long tail boat to the ferry on the other side of the island (where we had seen it last night at the Sunset Bar), then rode to Tonsai again on the east side of Koh Phi Phi.  Tonsai was pretty dead in the morning as the party crowd were all sleeping off their hangovers.  :)  We walked across the island (it is not even a quarter mile wide at this point) to the beach on the west side and sat at a restaurant relaxing and using their internet.  At 10am when the restaurant actually opened, we had some coffee and a delicious mango smoothie.  Then we boarded our ferry for Koh Lanta.

All of them waiting to carry tourists, some of their drivers were actually
sleeping on these boats!

Bustling Tonsai, the main city on Koh Phi Phi, and a huge party town.
After an hour ferry and another hour taxi ride, we arrived at the very southern tip of the island at the beach of Ao Mai Pai, where we would stay at LaLaanta Hideaway Resort, which was quite literally hidden away.  LaLaanta was one of only two places to stay on the beach, and there was nothing else around, no restaurants, etc.  We checked into our bungalow, then had lunch at LaLaanta’s restaurant in the sand.  Then we walked down the mostly deserted beach, little tiny crabs about the size of my thumbnail scuttling out of our way.  We had a brief swim in the ocean and hotel pool, then we read books in one of the restaurant’s little hut/booths until dinner, then read some more.  Really, there is nothing to do here but relax.  :)

As I can only take so much relaxing, we scheduled a snorkeling day trip for tomorrow.  :)

We had the beach mostly to ourselves.
